Unique vintage charm and a fantastic location for exploring local attractions. The rooms feel outdated, and the air conditioning unit was quite noisy.

The location is fantastic, right near all the historic sites and fun events. The casino is a great spot for entertainment and drinks. The room was quite small and outdated, with noisy neighbors making it hard to sleep. I found the shower pressure inconsistent. I'd consider staying again if the rooms get a refresh.

The snorkeling experience was memorable and fun for all ages. The staff was super friendly and offered free equipment rental.
It wasn't cheap, but the experience was worth it.

The rooms feature a historic charm but are in need of updates. The bed was far too soft for my liking, affecting my sleep quality. The plumbing is a concern, with unexpected temperature fluctuations in the shower. While the view from our suite was fantastic for people-watching, the noise level was disruptive due to traffic and foot traffic nearby. Stains on the carpets detracted from the overall experience. The atmosphere was unique, and the staff were friendly, eager to share local history.

The history of this place hits you right in the feels. Breakfast and dinner at Legends are a tasty trip down memory lane.
The rooms are definitely stuck in a time warp.

I absolutely loved how this charming hotel is right in the heart of Deadwood, making it easy to stroll around and soak in the history, with attractions like the Buffalo Bodega Gaming Complex just a couple of minutes away and the renowned Saloon No. 10 only a short walk of around 200 meters, plus the staff were super friendly and shared great trivia about the town's cowboy past, but the hotel could benefit from some updates in the rooms since the furniture and bathroom fixtures are quite dated.

I couldn’t believe how rude the front desk staff was during check-in. They hit me with unexpected extra charges, and when I questioned it, they acted like I was a threat. Security stood behind me—it felt ridiculous and so uncomfortable!

A great location, filled with charm. The staff is friendly and attentive—Ivan went above and beyond. Spacious room, and the bed? Exceptionally comfortable. Dining at Legends offered delicious, reasonably priced meals. the room fell short. The decor felt mismatched, as if cobbled together from various eras. Paint peeling and outdated furniture detracted from the otherwise historic ambiance. The lack of room service and basic supplies was noted. Noise travels easily—conversations from the hall were disruptive. While the casino provided entertainment, the hotel itself requires renovation to restore its former glory. A little care could elevate this spot from merely adequate to truly exceptional.

This historic hotel is right in the heart of town! My room had the best view and the comfiest bed. The breakfast omelette at Legends was a game changer!
Strongly recommend! ❤️✨

The historic charm was delightful, complete with stunning views from the Big and Rich room, but our second-floor rooms lacked that same perk. Dining at Legends was a highlight, even during a blizzard that challenged staff logistics. While the friendly staff, especially Josh, made the experience enjoyable, the cracks in the walls and slanted floors reminded us of the age. The King bed was a bit of a disappointment—those dips were hard to ignore. A hot shower trouble left us frustrated, but the breakfast vouchers were a nice touch. Still, a little upkeep wouldn’t hurt!

Charming hotel, charming experience with friendly staff and a cozy suite that offered a lovely view of the amphitheater where historical performances take place.
Nothing could have been better.

The Historic Franklin Hotel boasts an excellent location, rich in charm and history. The friendly staff enhanced our experience with fascinating tales of cowboys and gunslingers. While some amenities need updating, the budget-friendly rates make it a worthwhile stop for those seeking a unique getaway.

The location was spot on, right in the heart of the old town, with free parking , a real plus. The lively casino on the main floor added to the fun ambiance. The staff were super friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. Also, the breakfast was top, notch, even though it wasn't included.
The room was a bit chilly and the heater was noisy, needing an extra blanket for comfort. The bathroom walls had cracks and could have been cleaner.

I had a grand time at the hotel. The staff made my stay delightful, and I felt like a high roller in the casino. The events and concerts nearby were a nice touch.
I loved smelling old musty rooms and dealing with grumpy staff.

Enjoy concerts, parades, and winter sports. Generous hospitality guarantees lasting memories at the Silverado-Franklin. Fun for all ages.
In my wife's opinion, add more kid-friendly activities.

I, like many people who travel to Deadwood, came for the history. the historic beauty of the hotel is a treasure! our room was VERY historic, retaining most of the original fixtures of the room. As a history buff, it was like dying and going to heaven! the Wild Bill Saloon on the original site of the Old Saloon Number 10 was an excellent marching experience. If you're there for history, don't miss these two gems of Deadwood.
Nothing it was perfect 😊

After a wild night at the hotel's casino, we explored the energetic Star of the West. The fun continued with outdoor concerts and hiking among epic mountain views.
Wish there was a more happening nightlife scene for party-loving teens like us.

The historical ambiance of the building was captivating, and the location in the heart of Deadwood was unbeatable. The staff, especially Ivan the doorman, was friendly and accommodating, adding a personal touch to our experience. there were several drawbacks that couldn't be overlooked. The room we stayed in had outdated furniture that looked like it was picked up from a garage sale, and the bed was uncomfortable with a noticeable dip in the middle. The lack of amenities like a fridge or coffee pot was surprising, especially considering the price we paid for the room. The air conditioning unit in our room sounded like a jet plane, making it difficult to sleep peacefully. there were cleanliness issues such as dirty windows and cracks in the walls. The small elevator and limited information about the hotel made navigation a bit challenging. Despite these shortcomings, the Franklin has potential with its unique charm and historic value. With some updates to the rooms and amenities, it could truly shine as a must-visit destination in Deadwood.

So, the location was pretty spot, on for exploring the town's history, and the bed was decently comfy, which is always a plus after a day of wandering around. Oh, and the air, conditioner actually worked, so at least we weren't sweating buckets in the room.
But man, the room felt like a time warp back to the not, so, glamorous past. Stained carpet, chipped walls, and a funky smell that made me wish for a plug, in air freshener.

My time at the charming Deadwood gem was simply delightful. The hotel staff, including the incredibly friendly Taylor at the front desk, made me feel like a VIP from the moment I arrived. The location was ideal, allowing me to easily explore the Black Hills and enjoy the annual Buffalo Roundup. The highlight was dining at the Legend restaurant, where I enjoyed a scrumptious meal in a fantastic ambiance. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I will definitely be returning next year for another wonderful experience.
Though the hotel has its historic charm, some aspects showed their age. The room was a bit small and the bed could have been more comfortable.

The antique furnishings and ambiance were charming, but some rooms definitely need updating. Our room had a quirky charm, but the carpets and fixtures were showing their age. The restaurant was a delightful surprise with excellent food and service. Overall I'll recommend this hotel.
